Association of Residential Letting Agents

Who are ARLA?

The Association of Residential Letting Agents (ARLA) is a professional, self-regulating body which promotes high standards and scrupulous practice within the lettings industry. Landlords and tenants can be assured that in choosing an ARLA member letting agent they are in safe hands.

Grants are fully bonded members of ARLA which means we follow a Code of Practice in all aspects of our business. Our Clients’ money is held securely in a separate client account in accordance with ARLA’s strict requirements, and tenants’ deposits are held in an ARLA-backed insurance based Tenancy Deposit Scheme

Qualified Staff

ARLA stipulates that every lettings branch must have at least one member of staff who is ARLA qualified. Leaders takes this considerably further, with most its branches having at least 3 or 4 members of staff with an ARLA Qualification.

Six Important Questions to ask your Agent

There are six key questions you should always ask a letting agent before deciding whether to rent or let through them. And the answer to all six should be YES:

  • Are you a member of a professional body?
  • Do you maintain separate client accounts?
  • Are you bonded?
  • Do you hold professional indemnity insurance?
  • Are your staff qualified?
  • Are you a member of a tenancy deposit protection scheme?
