Grants’ drawing competition has an Olympic theme for 2012 Create a ‘Good Luck Great Britain message to win £250'

Following the popularity of their drawing competition in recent years, letting specialists Grants, part of letting chain Leaders, are again giving school children between 4 and 11 years old the chance to win £250 for their school plus £50 worth of art equipment for themselves.
The competition will have a special Olympic theme this year and there will also be some mystery Olympic-themed prizes on offer. Children are invited to create their own unique ‘Good Luck Great Britain’ Olympic message. The message can be in the form of a poster, picture or greeting card and any medium can be used to create it – paint, pencil, felt-tip, crayon, collage, etc. It must be no bigger than A4 in size.
The best messages will be sent to the Great Britain Olympic Team ahead of the Olympics for them to see and enjoy.
Says Leaders’ managing director, Paul Weller: “Over the five years that we’ve been running our drawing competition, we’ve been overwhelmed by the response from the many children who have entered. We’ve been delighted to award more than £4,000 in prizes to local schools and pupils and have had some very worthy winners.
"We hope the competition this year will be just as popular and that the children will be inspired by the chance to create a message that could be seen by our Olympic team. We look forward to seeing what they come up with!”
Leaders are frequent supporters of worthwhile charity, community and individual initiatives. In this Olympic year they are delighted to be lending their support to the promising young Olympic 2012 hopeful, diver Max Brick. Max, 19, specialises in the 10m platform event and is Tom Daley’s synchronised diving partner, with whom he won Gold in the Commonwealth Games in 2010. Leaders are sponsoring Max – who was recently crowned British champion at the British National Championships this year - as he pursues his aspiration to qualify for the 2012 Olympics.
Children aged between 4 and 11 years old are invited to enter the competition. There will be two categories: ages 4-7 years and 8-11 years. The winners in each category will be awarded £250 for their school, plus a £50 gift voucher for themselves to spend on art equipment. There will also be a number of runner-up prizes.
To take part in the Olympic-themed drawing competition, please send your artwork (no bigger than A4 size) to Lisa Martin, PR Manager, Leaders Head Office, Becket House, 6 Littlehampton Road, Worthing, West Sussex, BN13 1QE.
Don’t forget to write your name, age, contact telephone number and which school you attend clearly on the back.
The deadline for entry is Friday, 18th May 2012 and the winners will be notified and announced by 25th May. A selection of the best entries will be sent to Team GB. Unfortunately it will not be possible to return artwork.
